Scottish Gaelic Poetry seminar

Poetry is a fascinating and beautiful way in to language and culture.  In this half-day seminar, we will read and discuss a selection of Scottish Gaelic poems and songs in Gaelic with English translations.  No knowledge of Gaelic is required:  Gaelic-speakers, learners, and those with no Gaelic will  all have the opportunity to enjoy the sound and meaning of the poems, and explore their expressions of Gaelic culture.
10.00am-11.15am – traditional Gaelic poetry and songs
11.30am-1.00pm – contemporary Gaelic poetry and songs

Scottish Gaelic Retreat

Spend a weekend immersed in Scottish Gaelic at beautiful Callala Beach on the NSW South Coast.  We will have exclusive use of a holiday house and numbers will be limited to a maximum of eight.  Twin share rooms and shared bathroom facilities will be provided in the house. If you wish to participate in the weekend but do not wish to share a room, please contact us as other accommodation arrangements are available.  Formal Gaelic language classes will be interspersed with gentle walks on the beach, cooking traditional Scottish dishes and enjoying the outdoors – all in Gaelic.  All activities are optional, providing time to relax.  All meals, materials, accommodation, etc. are included in the price.  No prior knowledge of Gaelic required.

On very rare occasions, we may have to cancel an event due to circumstances beyond our control.  On such occasions, we will notify all registered participants and arrange a full refund.  If you are unable to attend an event for which you have registered, we will arrange a full refund if you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice.  If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, we will endeavour to arrange a reduced registration fee for a substitute event.
